Very slept on track if you ask me. Nice production by Diamond D (There's even a short verse by the man on there). The a-side is the same as on the official release (on HOLA Recordings).

However, the b-side has the same beat but different MC's. I don't know if Mf Doom or Capone (or maybe it's Noreaga, I keep mixing them up) were supposed to be on the track originally, or if whoever bootlegged this just added some accapellas to the instrumental. If anyone recognizes the rhymes from elsewhere, let me know!

Diamond D does say in his verse: "Sadat X, Zev, YO bring the action". "Zev" as in "Zev Love X" maybe...

One of the true classic Hip Hop albums. A true milestone in the Hip Hop history. My favorite track is the "Black steel in the hour of chaos" track.

Note how the PE logo, on the front cover, has yellow letters and grey background. There is another pressing which has black letters with green/yellow background. I don't know what's up with that, or which one came first. This particular copy was bought in July, 1988.

The expectations on Diamond D's 2nd album was extremely high and when it finally dropped, it wasn't as good as everyone had hopped for. It was a disappointment. Mainly cos of too much RnB influences and too many cameo appearances, if you ask me. But I guess that had to do with pressure from the record company. Well, not all tracks are crap, there are a few good ones. Especially the "Gather round" track, which is as good as any of the best tracks from the 1st album. "Epilogue" is another favorite.
